This is a super place to visit if you are into history of loom weaving (one area devoted to this).  It was a Penines Tweeds weaving mill until 1992 when it closed and then reopened in 2001.  It now has little workshops, exhibits the local people's paintings, photography, weaving, felt woodwork, ceramics, pottery, glass, silk, velvet, pewter and other textile work.   This is of a high standard and some very contemporary stuff here.  Regular exhibitions are held here which are often very inspiring for those into the arts.  There is also a very delicious cafe, although not cheap!

This has really bounced on since it first opened with a gigantic IMax cinema screen with some amazing specialist films, a superb international mountaineering museum, specialist shops, children's indoor play area, and 3 delicious eating areas all under one roof underground in part so that it is concealed.  Car parking is free.  The only things you pay for are the entrance fees for the museum and the Imax Theatre and of course your food if you choose to eat there.  It is an atmospheric place and worthwhile place to visit especially if it is a rainy day.
